Additional economic benefits
Industry Wide Agreement Contract Summary | July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2034

New benefit funds
The union’s leadership has been working on ways to expand how we can help ease our members financial burdens outside of work – starting with addressing the skyrocketing costs of housing and child care. This agreement will require your employers to begin contributions to new Housing and Child Care Funds during the life of the contract. Over the next few years, these new funds will begin helping members in ways such as finding affordable housing and bringing down child care costs.
The new contract also requires the employers to contribute to the Labor Management Cooperation Trust. This fund can be used to combat threats to your jobs.
Protections against inflation
In the event that inflation and the cost of living were to rise significantly faster than the increases negotiated in the new agreement, the new contract allows the union to request a joint study committee every 2 years to review the impact instead of only once at the very end of the contract.

Historic increases to wage related items
Extra pays negotiated in the IWA, such as extra room pay, cot pay, night shift differential, porterage and group fees, banquet rates, etc. will increase each year of the contract. The increases to wage related items go up at a significantly higher rate than in previous contracts (because of the dramatic wage increases).
