Scholarships

For over 40 years, the union's scholarship program has provided over 1,000 of our members’ children with financial support to pursue their dreams of a college education.

Our union’s scholarship program was among the hard-won rights that our members gained during the historic 1985 strike. It is a powerful example of the positive and long-lasting impact that past contract victories have on our members and their families. For over 40 years, the union's scholarship program has provided over 1,000 of our members’ children with financial support to pursue their dreams of a college education. Since its inception, the Fund has awarded over $10.8 million.

The cost of college tuition has become a huge financial burden. All too often, working families have to take on long term debt in order to earn a college degree. At $12,000 per student, paid in increments of $3,000 for each of the four years of college, our scholarship program helps to make a college degree more accessible.
