Our Front Desk class focuses on Oracle’s OPERA room reservations software – technology used by many hotels to manage their reservations, check-ins and check-outs, and more. This class is held weekly for 11 weeks.

Members have the opportunity to enroll in free classes through the union.
Our Front Desk class focuses on Oracle’s OPERA room reservations software – technology used by many hotels to manage their reservations, check-ins and check-outs, and more. This class is held weekly for 11 weeks.
English as a Second Language classes are available for non-native English speakers in-person at the union's office. This class is held weekly for 11 weeks.
The Computer Skills class will begin with fundamental computer concepts and will progress to cover more advanced skills, such as Microsoft Excel. This class is held weekly for 11 weeks.
This course is the 1st step to obtain a security guard registration card from New York State. Certificates are issued upon successful course completion, allowing members to apply for a license from the state. This is a one-day, 8-hour course. Please note that you are required to be a New York State resident, 18 years or older, to enroll in this training.
The First-Aid & CPR training teaches life-saving skills, including choking protocols, performing CPR, and using an AED. The class is taught by instructors certified by the American Heart Association. This is a one-day, 4-hour course.

The Industry Training Program administers a banquet server training course that covers room and table set up, proper and safe tray carrying, food and beverage service techniques, and professionalism. Interested members should apply for the banquet server training with the Benefit Funds at the below link.

The Industry Training Program administers a free multi-week course for members who are interested in working as Table Games Dealers at the new casinos. The Dealer Training Program will teach the art of dealing various table games, including Blackjack, Roulette, and Baccarat. The current program is 20 hours per week over 9 weeks.
Interested members should fill out the interest form. ITP eligibility rules will apply.
