A letter from HTC President Rich Maroko
I am proud to announce that our union has just reached a tentative agreement with the Hotel Association of New York City on a new Industry-Wide Agreement (“IWA”).

IWA Contract Summary
Eight years of guaranteed wage increases, benefits, and rights on the job.

The biggest wage increases in our history
We are proud to announce that our union has negotiated the largest wage increases in our nearly 100-year history.

Maintaining free family healthcare
Maintaining free family healthcare benefits was a defining issue in the negotiations.

Protecting our pension
Under the new contract, the employer contribution to the Pension Fund will increase by half a percentage point on January 1, 2027.

Additional economic benefits
The union’s leadership has been working on ways to expand how we can help ease our members financial burdens outside of work – starting with addressing the skyrocketing costs of housing and child care.

Improvements to Paid Time Off
Juneteenth. Improved bereavement benefits. Fully paid parental leave.

More rights on the job
The new contract contains over a dozen new rights.

Enhanced job security
Protections against new technology, and even stronger immigrants' rights.

Increased relief for Bell, Door, and other tipped front service staff
Increased relief for Bell, Door, and other tipped front service staff

Contract enforcement
It’s not enough to make management sign a new agreement, our union needs to have the tools to enforce it and make the employer live up to their end of the deal.
