Milagros Toribio
University Club
It is with a heavy heart that our union announces the passing of Milagros Toribio, a Per Diem Food Runner at University Club, on March 29, 2025.
Milagros was a mother, wife, and friend, who is missed dearly by the those who knew and loved her. She is survived by her son Luis and her husband Ernesto.
Milagros was a creative soul. She was capable of taking the most unassuming of elements and transforming them into something remarkable – whether it was crafting heartfelt meals in the kitchen, or working behind the brush as a makeup artist. Where others might have seen emptiness, Milagros saw potential. With this creative perspective, she brought a sense of beauty, care, and imagination to everything she touched. Milagros also loved the outdoors and singing and dancing along to Mark Anthony.
Milagros’ husband of 22 years, Ernesto, recounted a family dinner together that turned into a lifelong memory. “She really wanted a drumstick at dinner, but I had taken the last one. I had never seen her so disappointed before,” said Ernesto. “We found out later that Milagros was pregnant, and the drumstick had been a pregnancy craving! After this, it became our little inside joke. Every time Milagros would reach for a drumstick, we’d look at each other and say ‘no more kids!’”
