Winsome Barrett

Linen attendant | Grand Hyatt
Winsome Barrett

Our union is saddened to announce the passing of our sister, Winsome Barrett, who worked as a Linen Attendant at the Grand Hyatt for 41 years.

A very active union member, Winsome was a frequent presence at union rallies and bus trips. She believed very strongly in the importance of supporting workers who didn’t have contracts. Winsome was always thinking about other people and how she could help and support those in need.

Her daughter Ann Marie Barrett remembers her mother as a hard worker who loved people. “My mom was remarkable, and she was a true giver. When she would come visit me, she would bring two suitcases filled to the brim with gifts. She was always making sure that her family was taken care of.”
