Ronald and his family

Our union is saddened to announce the passing of Ronald Kearns, a retired Engineer from the Roosevelt. A union member for three decades, Ronald was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend who is remembered for his unwavering work ethic, generous spirit, and infectious sense of humor.

Ronald was an accomplished engineer who took immense pride in his work. His commitment and dedication were evident in every project he undertook. Ronald brought that same care to his hobbies and relationships. A man of many passions, he had a deep appreciation for the arts, particularly oil painting and abstract expression. He was a music-lover, particularly fond of jazz, and would oen play the music of Carlos Santana and Chuck Mangione. Ronald also loved to cook and experiment in the kitchen.

Most of all, Ronald cherished time spent with family. He adored his nephews, building intricate model train villages together and blending his love of design with his nephews’ expansive imagination.

Ronald radiated warmth and had a great sense of humor. He had the ability to instantly lift spirits with a well-timed joke or a lighthearted story. “Ronald would walk into any family gathering, and immediately light up the room,” recalled Ronald’s sister, Ramona. “The whole family misses him so much.”

Ronald is survived by his family – his sister and his beloved nephews. His presence will be dearly missed.
