Fall 2023The Pre-Paid Legal Fund provides eligible union members with free legal services. This past Spring, the union won pre-paid legal benefits for members at casinos and hotels covered by the Greater Regional Industry Wide Agreement (GRIWA) outside New York City in our renewal of the GRIWA. Members covered by the GRIWA can access the union’s Pre-Paid Legal Fund starting January 1, 2024.

Members can use the Pre-Paid Legal Fund for matters including the following:
Landlord / Tenant matters
Divorce
Child custody
Wills
Credit issues
Home purchases
Immigration

Note:
The Pre-Paid Legal Fund has recently expanded their benefits. Parents and legal guardians can now access free legal assistance for:
Administrative hearings to challenge a public-school district’s failure to provide a free and appropriate public education for children with disabilities
Cases when a public-school child is subject to disciplinary exclusion for ten or more school days
Sonia Diaz, a Room Attendant at the Row NYC, used the Pre-Paid Legal Fund last April to close on an apartment for herself and her husband.
