Arsenio Cruz
Houseman | Hotel 57
Our union mourns the passing of Arsenio Cruz, a Houseman at Hotel 57 and member of our union for 23 years.
Arsenio was a cheerful and lighthearted jokester who always brought smiles to the faces of those around him. A loyal Yankees fan, friends and family describe him as a team player who was always supportive, kind, and willing to help others. Arsenio also loved dancing and listening to music, especially Puerto Rican jíbaro.
Arsenio came from a big family, with two brothers and three sisters. Arsenio is survived by his son and daughter and his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy. He was a devoted father and grandfather, always making sure that his children had all the school supplies they needed for the start of school and supporting them through every step of their education.
Beaming with pride, Arsenio would tell others about his 4-year-old granddaughter, noting how she looked just like him and had his eyes. “He loved his granddaughter. He would facetime her every day,” said his sister Elsy. “She was his world.”
