With some solidarity from our union, and because of strong action by its members, Local 25, the union for hotel workers in Washington D.C., has finally won a long and bitter fight against an alliance of the major hotel chains, obtaining the best contract in its 70 year history.

HTC Members Get Out the Vote in Georgia

Eighteen HTC members and organizers are volunteering in Georgia to get out the vote for Democratic Senate candidates, Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. On January 5th, Georgia will hold a run-off election, which will determine which party holds power in the Senate.

In less than a month, President-Elect Biden will take over the economic recovery of our nation and begin managing the COVID-19 crisis. In order to implement many of his most ambitious plans, Biden will need the Senate’s support. Members Vote Overwhelmingly to Ratify Contract Extension

On Thursday, June 4th HTC members voted, by an enormous majority, to approve a 7 year extension to the Industry Wide Agreement which will cover over 23,000 workers, securing an unprecedented 11 years of guaranteed wage increases and healthcare.

2024 College Scholarship Winners

The Union’s scholarship program is one of the hard-won rights that members fought for during the 1985 city-wide strike. In the decades since, the program has awarded over $10 million to cover the education expenses of more than 1,200 children of HTC and Local 6 members. Read more...

College Scholarships Awarded to 22 High School Seniors

There haven't been many good news items in 2020, with the COVID-19 crisis leaving so many of our union's members out of work, but the annual scholarship awards for this year can give all of us hope for the future. A total of $264,000 has been awarded to 22 promising students who are children of our union's members. Congratulations to these scholars and to their parents!
