Members Testify at North Bergen Airbnb Hearing

On February 2, 16 members of the Hotel Trades Council attended the Board of Commissioners meeting in North Bergen, NJ, to express their support for a resolution the town was considering to regulate Airbnb rentals. The resolution was adopted with a unanimous vote of the Board, which is great news for hotel workers and town residents alike.

HTC Members Support Shuttle Bus Drivers in Newark

On Friday, January 20th, 65 HTC members turned out to a rally in Newark, NJ, in support of our brothers and sisters at Local 108, RWDSU. At the time, Local 108 was in a contract fight with Gateway, a shuttle bus company. The company’s shuttle bus drivers earn low wages and had not seen a wage increase in five years.
Union Wins A Contract For the Evelyn Hotel Employees

HTC has won a contract for the 41 employees of the Evelyn Hotel. The workers unanimously ratified the contract on January 11, 2017. Now, their working lives have drastically improved thanks to the terms and conditions provided for in the Industry Wide Agreement (IWA).

Hotel Workers Walkathon Raises Cash for Juvenile Diabetes Research

The theme of the event is “Relax your mind and strengthen your body,” and it is hoped that a large number of members will take advantage of the many benefits it will offer, just as many members did for the recent Men’s Health Week.

Contract Won at Courtyard Newark Liberty International Hotel
