The Union has won a contract for workers at the AKA Wall Street!

On December 7, 2016, AKA Wall Street employees unanimously ratified the Industry Wide Agreement (IWA), joining over 30,000 other hotel workers in New York City covered by the contract. They can now rest easy knowing that they are protected by the IWA and all of its benefits.

Richard Maroko, Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the union stated, “In light of the danger that lies ahead for the labor movement, it is vital that these workers have the job protections provided for in the IWA through 2026.  This is further proof that as the extended stay hotel model proliferates, its important for us to show that these workers can enjoy the same benefits as other union members enjoy at transient hotels.”
