Boathouse workers strike against unfair labor practices
60 Boathouse employees have walked off their jobs and were joined on the picket line by 37 of their co-workers who were illegally terminated in retaliation for organizing with our union. The strike started at noon on Tuesday, August 9.
Marriott Marquis Workers Win Union Recognition After 35 Years
Last week, our Union finally succeeded in organizing the largest and oldest non-union hotel in New York City, the New York Marriott Marquis in Times Square. HTC won recognition as the collective bargaining representative of the workers in the hotel’s housekeeping department. Arizona violates U.S. Constitution to attack unions
The National Labor Relations Board filed a federal lawsuit against the State of Arizona on May 6 and announced it expected to file a similar suit against the State of South Dakota within the next several weeks, to challenge recent changes to the two states' constitutions designed to prevent workers from organizing unions, and blatantly violative of the United States Constitution.
After a Grueling Anti-Union Campaign, Union Election Begins for Amazon Workers in Alabama
On Monday, February 8th, Amazon warehouse workers in Bessemer, Alabama began casting their ballots to join the Retail, Wholesale, and Department Store Union (RWDSU). If a majority of Bessemer workers vote for the union, the warehouse will become the first unionized Amazon facility in the country.
