During the emergency, members will access most union office services by phone

Due to the health threat posed by the coronavirus pandemic, the medical director of the Benefit Funds has advised the Union to reorganize our office operations so that members will be able to deal with all the departments of the Union without coming to our headquarters on 8th Avenue. The Union clerical, dues, technical, and other office staff will be doing their work via online links from their homes. So, members should not come to the office except with an appointment.

A large number of Hotel Trades Council Division A members voted overwhelmingly on October 15 to approve a contract extension similar to the extension of the IWA approved in June by their brother and sister HTC members employed in non-Division A hotels.

Hotel strike likely in Puerto Rico
The latest round of contract negotiations between Hilton and Local 610, which lasted three days, started off well, but ended badly. The first two sessions, held November 11 and 12, were productive. They began by revisiting the union's economic proposal, which had been put on hold temporarily while the union waited for quotes from insurance companies for an improved health plan for employees of the Condado Plaza and El San Juan Hotel and Casino.
Clarion Empire by Meadowlands Workers Unanimously Ratify First HTC Contract
Jubilant workers at the Clarion Empire Hotel by Meadowlands in Secaucus, New Jersey unanimously ratified their first HTC Union contract on Thursday, November 21st. It is by far the best contract ever won for the workers at the Clarion, who were previously represented by the (now defunct) Local 96 until 2010. The new contract doubles yearly wage increases for workers, substantially expands their rights and protections, and guarantees free health care for the life of the contract.
Workers at Park Hyatt Win First Contract
On Monday, June 15, 2015, workers at the Park Hyatt celebrated winning their first Union contract. Over 130 members from the Park Hyatt met with Hotel Trades Council Executive Vice President and General Counsel Rich Maroko and union staff to review the provisions of their first contract, which secures them guaranteed wage increases, the opportunity to enroll in the industry’s free family healthcare, a pension, and job security for the next eleven years. An overwhelming 98% voted to ratify the agreement.
