NYC Public School Parents: Opt Into Blended Learning By November 15th

The New York City Department of Education has announced that the parents of NYC public school students who are enrolled in remote learning have until November 15, 2020 to decide if they want to enroll their child in “blended learning” (a mix of both in-person and online/remote learning) for the rest of the school year.
After November 15th, students who are enrolled in remote-only learning will not be able to change their minds. Read more...

HTC negotiates first contract in New Jersey
Workers at the Sheraton Mahwah have unanimously ratified their first contract negotiated by the Hotel Trades Council. Boathouse employees vote to authorize unfair labor practice strike

On June 23, union supporters at the Boathouse restaurant in Central Park voted overwhelmingly (83 to 1) to authorize the leadership of the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, AFL-CIO to call an unfair labor practice strike against Boathouse management. The authorization vote means that a strike at the Boathouse is imminent, and could be called at a moment's notice by the President of the union.
