HTC Marches In Solidarity with CUNY and SUNY For Free, Accessible Education in the State of New York!
On Sunday, March 6, HTC members marched from Brooklyn Borough Hall to Foley Square in Manhattan in solidarity with the Professional Staff Congress (PSC- CUNY) that represents 30,000 staff in the City University of New York. For over four decades, the PSC has been committed to improving the quality and accessibility of education within CUNY and has strived towards better wages and benefits for the staff. This past Sunday, we marched for free higher education and to call for more funding for CUNY and SUNY universities, funding that will go towards their academic departments and hiring more full-time faculty. HTC Wins a Contract at the Beekman Hotel
On September 19th, 2017, the employees at the Beekman Hotel unanimously voted to ratify their contact. They are now covered by the Industry Wide Agreement, which covers nearly 35,000 hotel employees across NYC.

Here Are the 2019 Writing Contest Winners
In an exercise that showed the enormous talent in our union family, high school students from grades 10 through 12 submitted scores of entries into the 2019 writing competition. We’re glad they did.
More than half the essays and almost half of the narratives written by the students had immigration as their subject, and many of those explained how the union benefited their families. The Second Amendment, modern day heroes and the politicizing of the U.S. Supreme Court were also popular essay topics, and there were quite a large number of poignant essays and narratives about self-discovery.
