NYC Residents: Meet with MetroPlus about your healthcare options

Our Union has arranged for agents from MetroPlus (a city-operated, not-for-profit healthcare plan) to meet with union workers who are losing their healthcare in the coming months to discuss their healthcare options.

On December 17th, New York State extended the deadline to apply for a state healthcare program or qualified healthcare plan until December 31st for coverage beginning on January 1st. Members Testify at North Bergen Airbnb Hearing

On February 2, 16 members of the Hotel Trades Council attended the Board of Commissioners meeting in North Bergen, NJ, to express their support for a resolution the town was considering to regulate Airbnb rentals. The resolution was adopted with a unanimous vote of the Board, which is great news for hotel workers and town residents alike.

Local 6 Member to Star in NJ Opera

Local 6 member Edgar Jaramillo will be appearing in a leading role in Cavalleria Rustica, an 1890 one-act opera masterpiece composed by Pietro Mascagni. Jaramillo, a tenor who works at Brittany Hall when he is not singing, will have the role of Turiddu.
