The Health and Dental Centers had more than 5,000 visits during Women’s Health Week 2014, which is a clear indication that members are continuing to take interest in their health and well-being. President Obama’s executive order that will allow millions of undocumented immigrants to remain in the U.S. is what President John F. Kennedy would have called a “Profile in Courage.” The President knew he would be harshly criticized by Republicans, simply because they condemn anything Mr. Obama does, and he knew he would also be criticized by others for not going far enough in fixing America’s broken immigration system.

City wide boom in hotel development continues
According to a recent article on the popular real estate blog, DNAinfo.com, a new hotel, which bills itself as "tapping into [Bushwick's] 'Raw Feeling of Creativity'" will open in spring of 2015. The 116-room Bklyn House Hotel is just one of the many non-union hotels slated to open in 2015, which means the only thing that's raw about the place is the poverty pay deal it will likely offer its employees.
HTC invites DNC to choose Brooklyn!
The Democratic National Committee “DNC” announced in November that they will host the 2016 Democratic National Convention in either Brooklyn, Philadelphia, or Columbus. Delegates to the 2016 Democratic National Convention will select the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. HTC President Peter Ward urged the DNC to chose New York City for the 2016 Democratic National Convention. “New York City’s unionized hotel industry embodies the Party’s ideals of shared prosperity and a vibrant middle class,” Ward commented.
