Let’s Look at the Issues
In the last two years two additional states in the U.S. have adopted so-called “right-to-work” laws, and right now there is similar legislation on the table in Pennsylvania and Oregon. Since there are now 24 “right-to-work” states, the addition of those two states would put right-to-work states in the majority in our country.

This year’s Men’s Health Week drew 3,363 visitors, to the delight of Health and Dental Center staff members who called it further evidence that members are paying attention to health issues.

President Obama’s executive order that will allow millions of undocumented immigrants to remain in the U.S. is what President John F. Kennedy would have called a “Profile in Courage.” The President knew he would be harshly criticized by Republicans, simply because they condemn anything Mr. Obama does, and he knew he would also be criticized by others for not going far enough in fixing America’s broken immigration system.
Men’s Health Week Sets New Attendance Record
Men’s Health Week 2016 drew an astonishing total of 4,335 visits to the Health and Dental Centers, breaking last year’s attendance record of 3,854 by 581 visits! The strong participation is further evidence that members are paying attention to health matters, and that means longer, happier and healthier lives.

Remember Scott Walker? He’s the governor of Wisconsin who took away the union rights of state workers. The unions representing state workers are no longer allowed to bargain for wages and other items as a result of legislation passed by Walker and the Republican-controlled Wisconsin state legislature.
Scholarship Program for Division ‘A’ Hotels Is Accepting Applications
We are happy to announce that the Hotel Trades Council’s Division A college scholarship program is now accepting applications. This program is open to the children of Hotel Trades Council members employed in Division A hotels.
