Our Union Negotiates Emergency Safety Agreement to Confront Risks of COVID-19
On August 14, 2020, our Union reached an agreement with the Hotel Association of New York City, Inc. that extends the “Coronavirus Hotel Safety Protocol” through January 1, 2021 and continues until the earlier of either the end of the current, declared state of emergency or declared public health emergency, or an FDA-approved vaccine becomes available at the health centers. $500,000 in Back Pay Distributed at the New Yorker
As Hotel Voice reported several weeks ago the Union reached agreement with the New Yorker Hotel that called for a group of 44 workers to receive a total of a half-million dollars in back pay. We are happy to report that the money was distributed recently, to the smiles and cheers of these members who are employed in building repairs/renovations and property operations.

Seniors’ Days 2019: Celebrating Our Retirees
Seniors’ Days 2019 was greatly appreciated by the hundreds of retired members (and those nearing retirement) who participated in the event.
As reported in the past, Seniors’ Days provides specific attention to retired members, both as a whole and as individuals. But it has also become a great resource in retirement preparation for members over age 55 who are still working. Those that participated in the event in May visited their respective Health Centers without any appointment being necessary, giving each of them the opportunity to speak personally with doctors, dentists and other health care and lifestyle professionals.
