As you know, the academic year for NYC public schools is scheduled to begin on September 16th, 2020. Without a vaccine we know many parents have worries about whether or not to send your children to school, what their education will be like if you don’t, and questions about how to navigate the school system and enrollment virtually. The Union has put together this page for parents of NYC public school students to help you navigate the resources and options available to you.

Minutes into his presidency, Biden ousts union-buster Peter Robb
Just 23 minutes after being inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States, President Biden asked Peter Robb to resign from his position as General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”). When Robb refused, Biden fired him. Robb, a high-profile union buster, was considered by many to be the most dangerous General Counsel to oversee the NLRB in decades. Come support Boathouse workers at rally in Central Park on April 21
The Union is holding a rally outside the Boathouse restaurant. Union members are urged to participate. We intend to support the Boathouse workers and we are confident that our membership will respond strongly to assist in this effort. The rally will be held at 4:30pm on April 21.
Boathouse employees vote to authorize unfair labor practice strike

On June 23, union supporters at the Boathouse restaurant in Central Park voted overwhelmingly (83 to 1) to authorize the leadership of the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, AFL-CIO to call an unfair labor practice strike against Boathouse management. The authorization vote means that a strike at the Boathouse is imminent, and could be called at a moment's notice by the President of the union.
