HTC's Growing Presence in New Jersey
Hotel Voice, Spring 2020
It wasn't so long ago when the Hotel Trades Council had little presence in New Jersey. But in recent years the union has become the collective bargaining representative of employees at numerous hotels in the northern part of the Garden State. Along with adding so many members, the union has also won a good deal of respect for its involvement in legislative activity. Further evidence of our union's growing presence in New Jersey took place recently when HTC Recording Secretary and General Counsel Richard Maroko was named to the NJ Transit Board. Read more...
Hotel strike likely in Puerto Rico
The latest round of contract negotiations between Hilton and Local 610, which lasted three days, started off well, but ended badly. The first two sessions, held November 11 and 12, were productive. Hilton’s dysfunctional team of “negotiators”
One of the most disturbing and worrisome problems plaguing the negotiations is the unwillingness and/or inability of management's "negotiators" to make decisions and to engage in real dialogue with the Union.

August 12, 2020 4:04 PM
By Former President Peter Ward
When I announced to the General Officers and Executive Boards of HTC and Local 6 and the Local 6 Delegate Assembly that I had decided to retire, I recommended that Rich Maroko be appointed to fill my vacant offices. I explained to them the many reasons why I believed Rich’s appointment would be good for our Union.
