MoMA tower with hotel gets final approval

The MoMA mixed-use tower project has won approval from the New York City Council, clearing the way for the project to begin. Plans for the 1,000-foot tower include a 100-room hotel and 150 residential apartments. The NY Hotel Trades Council won a card-check neutrality agreement with the tower developers in early October, which will allow the workers in the hotel to freely choose to join the union without fear of intimidation or harassment from their employers.
