New York extends deadline to apply for health insurance starting January 1

The New York State of Health has announced an extension to the deadline to apply for healthcare coverage beginning on January 1^st. New York residents now have until December 31^st to apply for Medicaid, the Essential Plan, Child Health Plus, or any Qualified Health Plan (including those provided by MetroPlus) for coverage beginning January 1, 2021.
