Brooklyn Health Center To Re-Open on May 3rd!

May 2, 2021 3:06 PM

“Our Union’s Brooklyn health center will re-open with limited services this Monday, May 3rd” announces HTC President Rich Maroko. “Initially, the health center will offer primary care visits, lab work, and pharmacy only. We are thrilled to be able to announce this first step and look forward to the eventual return to full service of the Brooklyn health center and the re-opening of the Harlem health center.”

Earlier this year, our Benefit Funds had to close the Brooklyn and Harlem health centers after the emergency healthcare extension won by our Union came to an end and the number of patients and contributions to the Funds dropped dramatically.

Now, just five months later, the facility can re-open due to smart financial planning and the return of thousands of members to the plan who have been recalled to work or signed up for free COBRA provided in the American Rescue Plan.

Important Note: The Brooklyn health center will only be open to members and their families who are currently participating in the Industry-Wide Benefit Funds (whether through work or COBRA). If you are laid off and have not looked into getting your free family healthcare back through COBRA, read more here: https://hotelworkers.org/covid19/sign-up-for-free-cobra-coverage

The Brooklyn health center will be open Monday – Friday, from 9 am – 12 noon and 1 pm – 5 pm. To make an appointment, please call: (718) 858-7200.
