Members of the bell staff at the Lexington are $91,000 richer this week, courtesy of back pay won for them by the Union because of a contract violation. The workers received the money through a settlement agreement reached between the Union and the hotel. A total of seven workers received a combined amount of $91,198, with two of them receiving well over $20,000 each. The Union also won agreement from the hotel to correct the contract violation on a going forward basis, meaning the members will be earning the higher pay they are entitled to receive. Four of the Lexington bell staff members are seen here collecting their back pay from Local 6 Business Agent Miguel Castaneda.
