PATRICK RICHARDS

New York Athletic Club

Our Union mourns the loss of Patrick Richards, who was a Cook at the New York Athletic Club and a Union member for 20 years.

Patrick is remembered as the glue that kept his friends and family together. “He would always put something on the grill and invite everyone to come over. I’ve never met another who was so eager and willing to give someone a place to sleep if they had none,” shared Dee, his daughter. “He would help those who found themselves on hard times. He was one of a kind.”

Patrick loved fishing, DJing, watching westerns, cooking, running, swimming, playing cricket, soccer, and table tennis, and talking about king Lebron James. His children remember him taking them for ice cream every weekend, playing in the park on Sundays, and pranking them on April fool’s day. Patrick was also a dedicated and loving husband and son, a beloved grandpa, AKA grampie, who took his grandparent role seriously.

He was a wonderful coworker who looked out for his colleagues whenever called upon.

Patrick is deeply missed by his wife Judith, daughter Dee, sons Dayne, Lenell, and Levar; mom Pamela, mother-in-law Rachel, daughters-in-law Elizabeth and Stephanie; grandkids Carter, Legend, and Penelope; siblings, many aunts and uncles, and numerous friends. Gone too soon but not forgotten, may his soul rest in peace.
