IONEL “ROMEO” COSTAKE

Warwick Hotel

Our Union mourns the loss of Ionel “Romeo” Costake, who was a union member and Banquet Server at the Warwick Hotel for over 35 years.

Romeo was dedicated to his coworkers, his job, and his Union; he served as a Delegate for nearly 20 years.

Romeo’s presence, warmth, and kindness radiated through every room he entered. “He was always there for everyone,” recalled co-worker and friend James Gaine. “I worked with Romeo for about 30 years in banquets at the Warwick Hotel,” shared Mohammed A. Bhui- yan, another co-worker and friend. “We had good days, bad days, and fun days at the work- place. We shared each other’s thoughts experiences and ideas. It’s sad that he is no longer with us. He will be missed.”

“He was a loving son, supportive brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, devoted husband, cherished father, father-in-law, dutiful grandfa- ther and a friend to all who knew him,” shared his wife Marina. “Whether it was spending time with family, pursuing his passions, or lending a helping hand to those in need, Ionel approached each day with a spirit of gratitude and generosity.”

Romeo enjoyed traveling, fishing, and finding solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. His love and wisdom live on through his wife Marina, their daughters, Florina and Kristina, their granddaughters, Julianna and Arianna, and all who’ve known and loved him.
