The historic 1963 March on Washington - were you there?

The Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr.'s "I have a dream" speech took place before an enormous crowd in Washington, DC on August 28, 1963. Dr. King's partners in the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom included other religious leaders, community groups and labor unions, including the Hotel Trades Council and Local 6, which sent hundreds of members to the event. Were you or your parents one of those members who participated in the 1963 March on Washington? Our union's website (www.nyhtc.org) features a section on this historic event with photos and a story, and we would love to include photos and recollections of members who were there, or heard about it from someone who was there. If you attended this historic event with our union in 1963 we would love to hear from you! Please contact 212-492-2155.
