• PRE-PAID LEGAL SERVICE. Attorney consultation and representation available free of charge to eligible Hotel Trades Council members, spouses, etc. To contact the Pre-Paid Legal Service, members may call toll-free 1-800-HOTELAW (1-800-468-3529) 24 hours a day. The office for the Pre-Paid Legal Fund is located at 305 West 44th Street, fourth floor.

• CREDIT SERVICES. Assistance for members who are trying to establish credit, restore credit or having trouble paying their monthly bills. Credit education, credit counseling, debt consolidation and debt management are available. Call the Pre-Paid Legal Fund at 212-586-6400 ext. 4258 or ext. 4262 for more information.

• NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE COUNCILS. Director, Lillian Castro. Insurance, consumer advocacy, Burial Society, credit and collection, domestic problems, and landlord-tenant disputes. • INDUSTRY TRAINING PROGRAM and SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. Classes in Computer Skills, Plumbing Mechanic, Boiler Mechanic, Electrical Mechanic, A/C & Refrigeration Mechanic, Tournant (Food Preparation), A la Carte Server and Banquet Server Certifications are available to eligible Hotel Trades Council and Local 6 members. Members, pensioners and their families can be referred to a convenient location near their home or place of work for classes in English as a Second Language (ESL) and High School Equivalency (GED). Also, eligible dependents of Hotel Trades Council and Local 6 members may apply for the annual Vito J. Pitta college scholarship program in the year they are graduating high school. The Training and Scholarship office is located in Long Island City at 43-47 37th Street, around the corner from the Queens Health Center. The phone number is 718-361-5100, extension 3600.

• OPTICAL PROGRAM. Free eye examination (including glaucoma testing) and free eyeglasses (including many contact lenses) for active eligible Hotel Trades Council members and their spouses and dependents (and for HTC pensioners) at any General Vision Service (GVS) location. • HEALTH EDUCATION PROGRAM. Free assistance for members who need help in controlling weight, treating diabetes, lowering blood pressure, giving up smoking and other health related problems. For further information, call the Harlem, Midtown, Brooklyn or Queens Health Centers.

• MEMBERS HEALTH ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. Provides help for members with problems relating to alcohol, substance abuse, gambling, depression and any other mental health issues. Services are strictly confidential. Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., 14 Penn Plaza, fourth floor. For assistance, members may call 212-237-3037. Members may also call toll free 1-888-615-MHAP.

• PRESCRIPTION DRUG PROGRAM. For eligible members and their spouses and dependents. Also for Health Center-eligible Hotel Trades Council pensioners and their spouses. Prescriptions for generic medication contained in the program’s formulary can be filled for co-payments of $5 at pharmacies located at the Harlem, Midtown, Brooklyn and Queens Health Centers. Brand name prescriptions in the formulary can be filled at the pharmacies for co-payments of $15. Members can — and should — call in advance when having a prescription refilled.

• COBRA COVERAGE. Continued health coverage at group insurance rates for members and/or their dependents, when members are no longer covered through employment. For more information members may visit the COBRA office at 305 West 44th Street, fourth floor, or call 212-586-6400 ext. 4269.
