New Benefit Alert! Union Workers in NYC Can Now Use CityMD

We are excited to announce that the Health Benefit Fund has partnered with CityMD, which has urgent care clinics located throughout New York and New Jersey. This new partnership allows bargaining unit members who have the Industry Health Plan to go to any CityMD location — for free.

Members are able to use CityMD’s urgent care centers for minor medical problems that require immediate attention. There are over 150 CityMD urgent care locations throughout New York and New Jersey and many are open on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Access to CityMD allows members and their families to get appointments outside of normal Health Center hours, address urgent issues closer to home, and prevent unnecessary trips to the Emergency Room. Additionally, this new benefit will cut down on wait times at the Health Centers by opening up more slots for scheduled appointments.

“Coming out of the pandemic, one our Union’s top priorities will continue to be protecting and improving your healthcare,” shared HTC President Rich Maroko. “Providing free urgent care through CityMD is a huge step. It will both make it easier for members to access urgent care and it will help reduce wait times at the Health Centers.”

Be on the look out for your new Health Center Insurance Card!

Members have been sent a new Health Center Insurance Card in the mail. If you have not received this card, contact the Benefit Funds at (212) 586-6400.
You should use this new card at CityMD locations and when you get a referral to an outside provider from the Health Centers. Important Note: The new Health Center Insurance Card does not replace your Empire BCBS Insurance Card.
