On Thursday, July 15, 2021, our Union proudly hosted Eric Adams to celebrate his recent victory in the Democratic primary for New York City mayor. Our Union was the first labor union to back Adams in the Democratic primary in February 2021 and as always, our members showed up in force to campaign for him.

"You have been my first major union endorsement, I never forget my first. You are my love," Adams told a crowd of nearly 200 member volunteers who came to celebrate on Thursday.

NY1 reported on our Union’s event and Eric Adams’ commitment to build a city that will work for everyday New Yorkers.

“Thursday, Adams walked into the union headquarters to a hero's welcome and promised to take care of HTC’s interests,” reported NY1. “’You believed in me, I believed in you and we are going to turn this city into a city where blue-collar people will survive,’ Adams said.”

NY1 added, “Already, Adams is aligning himself with two of the union's biggest priorities: keeping Airbnb out of the city, and supporting legislation to require City Council approval before any new hotel is built.”
