HTC and Local 6 Unity Slates Elected by Acclamation

September 24, 2024: Members of the Local 6 Delegate Assembly were sworn in by Local 6 Business Manager Rich Maroko in the Gertrude Lane Auditorium.

On September 4, 2024, the HTC and Local 6 Unity Slates were elected by acclamation.

The Unity slates were composed of the very Union leaders who protected our members during the pandemic – and pushed our Union to new heights over the past three years. In a tremendous show of unity, over 10,000 union members seconded their nominations in the two weeks leading up to the nominations meeting.

HTC General Organizer Samantha Klein announced the nomination of the HTC Unity Slate: “The team that Rich has chosen to run alongside him on his slate has tough union leaders, members who have gone above and beyond to volunteer their free time to keep our union strong, and tough delegates who stand up to management every day on the job. I’m proud to be a part of this powerful team.”

At 2 pm, a crowd of union members attended the Local 6 Nominations Meeting in Gertrude Lane Auditorium. When the Chair of the Election Committee declared that Rich Maroko was re-elected as the President of HTC and Business Manager of Local 6, the room rose to their feet in celebration.

“It’s been the highest honor of my professional life to lead this Union,” President Rich Maroko said as he took the podium. “We’ve accomplished an extraordinary amount in the past three years, and this is just the beginning. Major negotiations are coming up in the next few years, and it is my intention to win the best contracts that we’ve ever had.”
