Union density linked to national happiness

Many of our members remember a time when Americans proudly boasted that the U.S. had the highest standard of living in the world. People don't say that anymore. Maybe that's because of the decline of labor unions in this country.

As In These Times reports, a recent study found that one of the reasons the U.S. is ranked so low in quality of life is directly related to the low level of unionization.
