Stop the exploitation of Indonesian factory workers

October 20, 2010 8:00 PM

On Tuesday October 5th over thirty members and staff of the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council, AFL-CIO protested in front of the Madison Avenue Nespresso Boutique Bar. The Hotel Workers gathered to protest the treatment of the workers at the Nescafe factory in Panjang Indonesia. Nestle, the owner of Nespresso and Nescafe brands, has refused to negotiate wages in good faith with the workers of the SBNIP union at the factory and has created its own, management run union. Our hotel workers are fighting Nestle in solidarity with their union brothers and sisters in Panjang. A petition with a message to Nestle CEO Paul Bulcke was signed by all the workers present to show that New York union hotel workers want Nestle to "Stop Nespressure."
