Paladino nephew “very offended” by uncle’s anti-gay remarks

According to articles in both the New York Post and Daily News, Carl Paladino attempted to use his 23-year old nephew, who is gay, as a shield against claims that Paladino is bigoted and homophobic.

After his remarks prompted fierce rejoinders and were widely criticized, Paladino publicly disclosed that his nephew is gay. When contacted by the New York Post, the young man said that he was "very offended by his comments."
