New biography of Frances Perkins, champion of the working class

A fighter and a strategist to be reckoned with, lifelong labor leader Frances Perkins devoted her life to fighting for and protecting working people. Among other things, Perkins's vision and tenacity are responsible for minimum wage and Social Security, and she became the first woman to serve in the cabinet when President Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed her to Secretary of Labor. A new biography on Perkins offers an interesting and inspiring look at her life as a champion for the working class.
