Dozens of unionized employees of the Caribe Hilton, Condado Plaza and El San Juan hotels will stage demonstrations over the next three days to protest work conditions at the beachfront properties owned and/or managed by the Blackstone Group. Protest activities by members of Local 610 are slated for this afternoon, Friday and Saturday to denounce what they claim are low salaries, poor medical coverage, disrespectful managers and dirty and unsafe work environments. The unionized employees say they have worked for months without a contract and claim Blackstone has violated local and federal labor laws.
