High turnout at Tavern auction

The first day of the three-day auction of Tavern on the Green's artwork, statues, chandeliers, and numerous other items was marked by high turnout, as evidenced by long lines at the bidders' sign-up tables. Interest in the outcome of the auction runs high among the restaurant's numerous creditors, among whom are included a significant number of the NY Hotel Trades Council members who worked there. The auction began January 13, and will continue with two sessions January 14, at 1pm and 6pm, and a final day-long session Friday, January 15.
