Ferreras explains her grassroots appeal

Julissa Ferreras is gearing up for the Democratic primary elections and is campaigning to run for a full term as the City Councilwoman for the 21st District in Queens. The Hotel Trades Council helped Ferreras win the seat in a special election in January and is backing her again in the upcoming Democratic primary election. Among other things, Ferreras is well known in her community for being an advocate for tenants rights, and in particular for fighting to protect the rights and safety of low-income tenants.
