15 hotels currently under construction in Brooklyn

According to data from Smith Travel Research, Inc., 15 hotel projects are currently under construction in Brooklyn, 12 of which are scheduled to open in 2010. In addition, two projects are in the final planning stage, another two are in the pre-planning stage, and 21 projects are in the planning stage, which could add an additional 25 projects to the borough. The large number of projects in this single borough alone shows the importance of NY Hotel Trades Council's steady emphasis on protecting its density.
