In-House Full-Stack Web Developer

The New York Hotel & Gaming Trades Council, AFL-CIO, a labor union that represents nearly 40,000 workers in the hotel, gaming, and racing industries in the New York City area, is seeking an in-house full-stack web developer.

We are in the process of building a secure private member section, integrating the site with our Dues system, novel tools for external organizing campaigns, using our website to increase our political reach, and much more.

We are constantly seeking new ways to increase our effectiveness through smart use of technology and we are looking for a creative developer to help conceive of, design and implement tools to support the Union in our mission.

This position offers the prospect of a great career and, as we are a labor union, an excellent benefit package.

Starting salary: 

$58,000 to $70,000

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years developing websites using an MVC framework (especially Laravel)
  • Experience with JavaScript

Other useful experience/qualifications:

  • Linux server administration
  • Database administration (MariaDB, SQL, or Filemaker)
  • UI/UX design skills
