As you know, the academic year for NYC public schools is scheduled to begin on September 16th, 2020. Without a vaccine we know many parents have worries about whether or not to send your children to school, what their education will be like if you don’t, and questions about how to navigate the school system and enrollment virtually. The Union has put together this page for parents of NYC public school students to help you navigate the resources and options available to you.

HTC gets strict safety agreement for reopening

Our Union has negotiated an agreement that extends the “Coronavirus Hotel Safety Protocol” and adds important new protections for our members as they return to work, takes steps to prevent outbreaks at a workplace, and makes sure members who contract the Coronavirus are able to take the time they need, with pay, to recover.

Five days of negotiations in Puerto Rico: Slow pace, some progress

Union negotiations with Hilton, began on September 9th and lasted for 5 days. Held in the Colegio de Abogados, on Ave Ponce de Leon, the negotiations were heavily attended by employees from the three Hilton hotels.

Union “YES!” at the Ludlow Hotel – HTC Wins with 97% of the Vote

Despite a nasty anti-union campaign by management, the workers of the Ludlow Hotel, on Ludlow and East Houston Streets in Lower Manhattan, have voted by a rather unambiguous majority in favor of HTC and have now won the priceless right to negotiate. The vote was conducted by the National Labor Relations Board on August 20, 2015.
