NY State Unemployment Survey

Our Union has been in contact with the New York State Department of Labor regarding the problems many union workers have recently had collecting unemployment due to severance pay. Our Union has been able to intervene and we are pleased to report that the DOL is going to fix these issues system-wide. The DOL will automatically fix the issues of those union workers who have recently had problems receiving unemployment because of severance pay. If you have had problems due to severance pay, the DOL has confirmed that you do not need to take any further action at this time.

Representatives at the DOL have assured us that fixing this is a priority, and that they will fix it as soon as feasible.
