Steve Wynn has dropped out of the bidding war to develop the Aqueduct racino. The Las Vegas casino giant had been a leading contender and had recently signed a labor peace agreement with the NY Hotel Trades Council. Five bidders remain, with Penn National Gaming and SL Green leading the competition for the sought-after license. Both Penn National Gaming and SL Green have also signed labor peace agreements with the HTC.

The winning bidder is expected to be chosen within the next two weeks by Governor David Paterson, Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, and Senate Democratic conference leader John Samson.
