Three New York City hotels, all a part of the NY Hotel Trades Council, have been certified as "green" for their commitment to reduce waste and pollution and to conserve energy and water. The Grand Hyatt New York, the Beekman Tower Hotel, and the Westin New York at Times Square all signed on with the New York state Department of Environmental Conservation's Audubon GreenLeaf program. The NYC hotels join 40 other hotels and inns from across the state as a part of a larger effort to encourage and develop sustainable tourism.
