Number of bidders to operate Tavern on the Green drops

With many prominent restaurateurs dropping their bids for the Tavern on the Green lease, current operator Jennifer LeRoy stands in a better position to win the new lease. Tavern on the Green employs hundreds of Hotel Trades Council members, and the Parks Department is expected to announce the winners of the bid sometime in July. The LeRoy's lease on the property expires December 31, 2009.
