New labor department to enforce for workers

Recently appointed Labor Secretary Hilda Solis has been busy these last few months repairing the damage former President George W. Bush and his administration reeked on the nation's labor department. Under the guidance of President Barack Obama, Solis is creating a labor department that will enforce wage rules and health and safety codes for workers. Already the department has hired 150 investigators to enforce wage and child-labor laws and a task force has been established to create an enforcement program for the most sever health and safety violators. While Bush's labor department so often fought on the side of big business, Obama's department will be looking out for the working people of this country, ensuring that they have a safe place to work and are rightfully compensated.
