HTC wins labor peace agreement with MoMA tower developer

Despite initial resistance, the NY Hotel Trades Council has secured a labor peace agreement with the project developer Hines on a planned 120-room hotel in a tower adjacent to the Museum of Modern Art. Central to the deal, Hines has agreed to recognize the union if a majority of the workers sign union authorization cards. Plans for the proposed tower adjacent have not yet secured final approval from New York City authorities, and the City Council is currently reviewing the project.
