HTC plays big role in Queens elections

If the 2008 elections were any indication, the Hotel Trades Council has proved it is a force to be reckoned with in New York City politics. With the 2009 elections nearing, HTC is taking ambitious chances to further its interests and has the organization to do it. The hotel workers' union has thrown its support and resources behind four City Council challengers who will all be running against candidates backed by the Queens Democratic Party. The union has 12,000 living in Queens and promises to run an extensive member-to-member and canvassing campaign to elect the four hopefuls.
